It's pretty quick - 4.8Gbit/s, USB 2.0 is 480Mbp/s.

It does, yes. Obviously all the hardware involved will need to be USB 3.0 though.

According to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Serial_Bus#Availability) it should become available in 2010.

and the original site, estimate 30% usage by 2013 :D clearly dont expect it to kick off to well
